Japanese shares skid out of open, Nikkei down 2.7%
LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Japanese shares fell sharply out of the open Friday, hitting year-to-date lows after a plunge overnight on Wall Street. The benchmark Nikkei Stock Average fell 2.7% to 9,764.9 in the opening minutes, while the broader Topix was down 2.3% at 877.8.
